About this format

How Waze QR code works

Create a Waze QR code for an address or exact coordinates, opening Waze with a destination ready for the driver to navigate to.

What the QR code contains

The generator creates a Waze Deep Link: an address becomes a URL-encoded q search, while coordinates become ll latitude, longitude. Both links include navigate=yes. Find the place in Waze Live Map, then verify its address and the correct driving entrance before entering it.

Where it works

On a mobile device, the HTTPS Deep Link opens the Waze app when installed and otherwise opens the Waze website. On desktop, it opens as a web page.

Limits to check

The generator accepts an address or one destination coordinate pair, not an arbitrary shared Waze URL or a multi-stop route. Waze calculates the route using the driver's settings and location.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why does the Waze link include navigate=yes?

The parameter asks Waze to start a navigation session to the supplied destination. Route choices still follow the driver's Waze settings.

Can I put a full Waze route into this QR code?

No. Enter an address or latitude and longitude for one destination. A route with fixed stops or an arbitrary Waze share link is outside this generator's input.

What happens after the code is scanned?

The device recognizes the encoded data and offers a suitable action. The exact behavior depends on the camera, operating system and installed apps.

Can I change a static QR code after downloading it?

No. Its data is written into the image. If the content changes, create and test a new QR code.

Is an internet connection required for scanning?

Recognizing the code itself does not require the internet. A connection is needed when the result opens a website, file or another online resource.

How should I prepare a QR code for print?

Keep strong contrast, a clear quiet zone and the correct proportions. Test a sample on several devices at the final print size.
