Dynamic QR code: change the link after printing
The QR matrix holds a short address managed by the service, not the final page. That is why the destination changes inside the dashboard and never requires a new image.

Features
Control the code, the redirect and the result
Every feature below works in the current version of the product and respects the limits of your plan.
Change the destination
Update the content or the target address of a live QR code while keeping the same matrix on printed materials.
Event analytics
Review trends, top countries, devices, operating systems, browsers and sources; city appears in the latest 100 events.
Content and design
Keep the data type, the configuration, the style, the logo and the design settings in a single object.
Active state
Pause the scenario of a QR code and bring it back online from the dashboard.
Custom domain
Connect a verified domain within the limit of your plan.

How an updatable QR code works
The QR matrix holds a short address managed by the service, not the final page. That is why the destination changes inside the dashboard and never requires a new image.
A stable matrix and a changeable destination
When a dynamic QR code is created, the system links it to a short link. The scanner reads that link, the server resolves the current destination and performs the redirect. As long as the short address stays the same, the QR file remains usable.
This helps with printed media, but it adds a dependency on an active account, a plan and an available redirect. For fixed data that has to work without a server hop, a static QR code is the better choice.
What a dynamic QR code can do
- Creating and editing dynamic QR codes
- Active and paused states
- Analytics with plan-based retention
- CSV catalogue import and export
- Clear plan limits with no hidden "unlimited"
Workflow
From setup to a placement you can manage
Dynamic mode belongs wherever a printed QR code has to outlive a change of page, campaign or document.
- 1
Choose the type and the data
Set the scenario of the QR code, its name and its content. In dynamic mode the system creates a managed short link.
- 2
Set up the look
Pick the module style, the colors and the logo. Check that the code stays readable in the preview before you save.
- 3
Place the code
Download the file and use it in print or digital materials. The QR code keeps a stable redirect address.
- 4
Update and analyze
When a dynamic QR code is created, the system links it to a short link. The scanner reads that link, the server resolves the current destination and performs the redirect. As long as the short address stays the same, the QR file remains usable.
Scenarios
When a dynamic QR code saves you a reprint
A good fit for long-lived materials and for campaigns where the destination may change after launch.
Comparison
Static or dynamic QR code
The choice depends on whether the data has to work on its own or be managed after placement.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How is a dynamic QR code different from a static one?
A static QR code stores the final data directly in the matrix. A dynamic QR code goes through a managed short link, so the target address can be changed in the dashboard without changing the image of the code.
Do I have to reprint the QR code after changing the link?
No. The printed code keeps the same short address. Once the new destination is saved, the scans that follow are handled by the updated setting.
What data does the analytics show?
The dashboard offers reports by date and technical breakdowns of the event: country, city, device type, operating system, browser and referral source. History depth depends on the plan.
Can a dynamic QR code be paused?
Yes. A QR code has an active state that you can change in the dashboard. An inactive code is not supposed to continue its usual redirect scenario.
Can I use my own domain?
Custom-domain availability and quantity come from the current pricing catalog. When available, a domain is added and verified in a separate dashboard section.
