About this format

How UPI QR code works

Create a static UPI payment QR with a UPI ID, payee name, optional INR amount and note.

Static-only format

What the QR code contains

The QR code contains a upi://pay URI with the payee address, name, INR currency and any amount or note you provide. A compatible payment app reads these fields.

Where it works

UPI is an Indian payment scheme. Scanning requires a UPI-capable app and an eligible bank or payment account; support outside India is limited.

Limits to check

UPI is generated as a static QR because its payment URI must be stored directly in the code. Printed data cannot be changed, and the payer must verify the payee in the payment app.

Illustration. The working code is created in the builder above.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What happens after the code is scanned?

The device recognizes the encoded data and offers a suitable action. The exact behavior depends on the camera, operating system and installed apps.

Can I change a static QR code after downloading it?

No. Its data is written into the image. If the content changes, create and test a new QR code.

Is an internet connection required for scanning?

Recognizing the code itself does not require the internet. A connection is needed when the result opens a website, file or another online resource.

How should I prepare a QR code for print?

Keep strong contrast, a clear quiet zone and the correct proportions. Test a sample on several devices at the final print size.
