About this format

How Spotify QR code works

Create a Spotify QR code for an artist, track, album, playlist, podcast or profile by pasting the exact share link from Spotify.

What the QR code contains

Spotify requires a full URL rather than a name. Open the artist, track, album, playlist, podcast or profile, choose the three-dot menu, then Share and Copy link before pasting it here.

Where it works

A standard QR can be read by a normal phone camera and opens Spotify on the web or in the app. Spotify Codes use a separate format and Spotify's scanner. The public generator supplies a static QR with custom design and logo options; an editable destination and scan data require a dynamic QR saved in an account.

Limits to check

Access still depends on the content and account. Private playlists are not generally available by an ordinary public link, and Spotify documents time-limited sharing links for selected private access. Test the exact link outside your account.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What Spotify link can I use?

Use the full link copied from Share for an artist, track, album, playlist, podcast or profile. The generator does not accept only a Spotify name.

Is a Spotify Code the same as a QR code?

They are different formats. Spotify Codes use Spotify's scanner, while a standard static QR works with phone cameras and can use your design and logo. Changing its link or seeing scan data requires a dynamic QR saved in your account.

Will a private playlist remain accessible?

Only according to Spotify's current access rules. Some private sharing links expire, so verify the exact link and avoid permanent printing for temporary access.

What happens after the code is scanned?

The device recognizes the encoded data and offers a suitable action. The exact behavior depends on the camera, operating system and installed apps.

Can I change a static QR code after downloading it?

No. Its data is written into the image. If the content changes, create and test a new QR code.

Is an internet connection required for scanning?

Recognizing the code itself does not require the internet. A connection is needed when the result opens a website, file or another online resource.

How should I prepare a QR code for print?

Keep strong contrast, a clear quiet zone and the correct proportions. Test a sample on several devices at the final print size.
