What the QR code contains

Enter a username for a profile link, or paste the full Instagram URL of a profile, post or Reel. In the app, use Share profile or Copy link on the item you want people to open.

Where it works

A regular QR code can open the Instagram link from a phone camera, in the app or in a browser. Instagram also offers a profile card with its own QR code. The public generator downloads a static QR with custom design and logo options; changing its destination or viewing scan statistics requires a dynamic QR saved in an account.

Limits to check

A link does not bypass Instagram privacy. Posts from private accounts are visible only to approved followers, and a renamed username can make an old profile address unsuitable, so test while signed out before printing.

How is this different from Instagram's profile QR?

Instagram's profile card is convenient inside the service. A custom static QR can match your print design and include a logo. To edit the destination later or see scan statistics, create and save a dynamic QR in your account.

Will the code show content from a private account?

Privacy still applies. The scan opens Instagram, but only approved followers can see content restricted by the account's settings.

What happens after the code is scanned?

The device recognizes the encoded data and offers a suitable action. The exact behavior depends on the camera, operating system and installed apps.

Can I change a static QR code after downloading it?

No. Its data is written into the image. If the content changes, create and test a new QR code.

Is an internet connection required for scanning?

Recognizing the code itself does not require the internet. A connection is needed when the result opens a website, file or another online resource.
