About this format

How Google Meet QR code works

Create a Google Meet QR code from the meeting link, then test browser or app opening, access settings and link validity before sharing.

What the QR code contains

Copy the meet.google.com link from the Calendar event, invitation, Meet homepage, or in-meeting details. Store the full HTTPS address rather than only the short meeting code.

Where it works

The link works in a supported computer browser and can open the Google Meet app on mobile. Whether a guest joins directly, signs in, or asks to join depends on the host's access settings.

Limits to check

Meet codes do not share one expiry period: their lifetime depends on whether they were created in Calendar, Meet, Gmail, Chat, Classroom, hardware, or another product. Test old and printed links before use.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find the Google Meet link?

Copy it from the Google Calendar event or invitation, from the Meet homepage after creating a meeting, or from Meeting details inside an active call.

Does a Google Meet QR code expire?

The QR image does not, but its meeting code can. Google applies different expiry rules according to the product that created the code and its later use.

Can someone join Google Meet without an account?

Some meetings allow it, but the visitor may need to enter a name and ask to join. Workspace administrator and host access rules can require an account or deny entry.

What happens after the code is scanned?

The device recognizes the encoded data and offers a suitable action. The exact behavior depends on the camera, operating system and installed apps.

Can I change a static QR code after downloading it?

No. Its data is written into the image. If the content changes, create and test a new QR code.

Is an internet connection required for scanning?

Recognizing the code itself does not require the internet. A connection is needed when the result opens a website, file or another online resource.

How should I prepare a QR code for print?

Keep strong contrast, a clear quiet zone and the correct proportions. Test a sample on several devices at the final print size.
