About this format

How PayPal QR code works

Create a QR code for a PayPal.Me payment link, with an optional amount and supported currency.

What the QR code contains

The code opens a paypal.me address for the account name you enter. If you add an amount, the link also carries that amount and currency; PayPal still shows the payment for confirmation.

Where it works

PayPal.Me availability, supported currencies and the ability to receive a payment depend on the recipient account and country. Test the link while signed out before printing it.

Limits to check

The QR code does not verify the PayPal account, lock an exchange rate or confirm a payment. The payer must check the recipient, amount and currency in PayPal.

Illustration. The working code is created in the builder above.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What happens after the code is scanned?

The device recognizes the encoded data and offers a suitable action. The exact behavior depends on the camera, operating system and installed apps.

Can I change a static QR code after downloading it?

No. Its data is written into the image. If the content changes, create and test a new QR code.

Is an internet connection required for scanning?

Recognizing the code itself does not require the internet. A connection is needed when the result opens a website, file or another online resource.

How should I prepare a QR code for print?

Keep strong contrast, a clear quiet zone and the correct proportions. Test a sample on several devices at the final print size.
